Almost Heaven / Let it Snow

This project may work well for confident beginners, or experienced quiltmakers who want a quick project for themselves or gift giving. This winter scene can be made more (or less) Christmasy, depending on how much you decorate the trees and house. Pattern also includes Let It Snow lettering option.

The fusible machine appliqué is fairly simple, but you will also learn two techniques that may be unfamiliar to you. You will learn to make your own fusible bias tape, and how to use it to create lettering. 

You will also learn to do Shisha hand embroidery for the snowflake “O”. You may have seen Shisha embroidery on Indian fabrics that have small mirrors attached. We will use Pailettes (large sequins) instead of mirrors. .

The quilting can be as fancy or simple as you like. It can be done by hand or machine, free motion or with a walking foot.
